Dorothy Clare Zarren got her BA at Skidmore College where she completed a double major in Studio Art with concentrations in both oil painting and graphic design, and Psychology. She also studied at Parsons Paris in France, an affiliate of the Parsons School of Design. While at Skidmore, her work was selected for two Juried Student Exhibitions at the Skidmore College Schick Art Gallery. Dorothy had her first solo show at the Stetson Gallery in Marblehead, Massachusetts in 2004 and was selected to be part of the 2004 Spring Equinox Gala and Group Show at Evos Arts in Lowell, Massachusetts.

Dorothy completed the Post-Baccalaureate Program at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston in December 2009. She has a studio at Vernon Street Studios in Somerville, MA and participates annually in both the Vernon Street Open Studios and the Somerville Open Studios.

When Dorothy is not in the studio, she is working at From the Top, a non-profit whose mission is to celebrate the passion, dedication and personal stories of the nation's outstanding young classical musicians. Along with being passionate about the arts, Dorothy is also an avid fan of the Boston Celtics.
